Paige is a Chicago native with a background in communications, nonprofit and government work. She holds an M.A. in U.S. foreign policy and national security and a B.A. in sociology. She is passionate about breaking down complex political issues in a way that’s accessible and engaging. With a sharp eye for global affairs and a deep no nonsense commitment to public discourse, she brings a fresh and witty perspective to today’s most pressing topics.
I started Current Affairs Unfiltered because I was tired of feeling like political discussions were either oversimplified soundbites or inaccessible deep dives meant for policy wonks. After graduating with my master’s in U.S. foreign policy and national security, I struggled to find a job and tried to make sure that people in my own circle were well informed on the issues of the hour. In the aftermath of the 2024 election I was deeply disturbed by the way political discourse often leaves people feeling overwhelmed, more confused and powerless. Instead of waiting for someone else to give me permission to create change, I decided to start a podcast that breaks down complex political issues in a way that’s engaging, honest, and unfiltered. My goal is to help people understand what’s happening, why it matters, and how they can actually do something about it. Politics isn’t just about Washington—it’s about all of us, and it’s time we start talking about it that way.

In this conversation, Alan Bradstock, a candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District, discusses his extensive background in public service, including his time in the U.S. Army and the FBI, and how those experiences shaped his views on leadership, democracy, and the urgent need to rebuild trust in government. He emphasizes the importance of an economy that rewards hard work rather than wealth, the removal of big money from politics, and restoring real accountability within our institutions. Alan also shares personal reflections on fairness and equality, including how being the father of a transgender teen has informed his values, and closes with a hopeful vision for America rooted in unity, competence, and bipartisanship.

In this conversation, Ridge Knapp joins Paige to talk about his campaign for Illinois’s 13th State House District and why this moment demands new voices in state politics. Drawing on his background in organizing, policy, and Democratic leadership, Ridge explains how his generation experiences affordability, housing, and economic insecurity differently — and why those perspectives are missing in Springfield.
He discusses the growing homelessness crisis, the strain rising costs place on working families, and the local impact of data centers on communities. Ridge also makes the case for stronger data privacy protections and proactive AI regulation at the state level, arguing that Illinois has more power than people think. Throughout the conversation, he emphasizes coalition-building, community engagement, and legislating with lived experience. This episode explores what it looks like to run not just against the status quo, but with a clear vision for how state government can better serve the people it represents.
